Position Summary: Our client, a rapidly-growing food manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist or HR Business Partner to support a growing workforce due to acquisition and expansion. This is a hands-on, highly visible role responsible for supporting the day-to-day human resources needs of a fast-paced manufacturing operation. In the role, you will have the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on employee relations, retention, communication, and the overall employee experience. The ideal HR professional will enjoy working directly with employees and supervisors, and have experience within manufacturing, food production, distribution, or a similar hourly workforce environment. If you are approachable, practical, organized, and comfortable handling a broad range of HR responsibilities, you will be successful in this position. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred due to the significant interaction this position will have with Spanish-speaking employees.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across the manufacturing facility. Provide daily HR support to a workforce of 150+ employees, with significant interaction on the production floor. Communicate HR policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace expectations effectively. Support employee relations matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and documentation. Build strong relationships with hourly employees and maintain an approachable HR presence throughout the facility. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and retention of hourly manufacturing employees. Conduct new-hire orientation and other employee communications in both English and Spanish as needed. Partner with supervisors and managers regarding performance management, attendance, employee relations, and workforce issues. Maintain employee records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and compliant. Support benefits administration, leave administration, workers' compensation, and employee inquiries. Assist with payroll and timekeeping administration and resolve employee questions or discrepancies. Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. Participate in safety initiatives, employee engagement activities, training, and retention programs. Translate or assist with HR communications and employee materials between English and Spanish. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.3+ years of HR Generalist or comparable HR experience required. Experience supporting an hourly workforce; manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or distribution experience. Bilingual Spanish/English is strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of employee relations and general HR practices. Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, and HR compliance. Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels, from production employees through senior management. Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor rather than operating exclusively from an HR office. Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll/timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
