Senior Manager, Client Acquisitions – M&A & Business Development
Location: Rochester, NY, US
Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $114,100–$179,300 + bonus and restricted stock units
Overview:
Senior Manager responsible for driving client-base acquisitions across payroll and human capital services. Owns the acquisition lifecycle from opportunity sourcing and due diligence through negotiation, closing and post-acquisition integration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to identify and close client-base acquisition opportunities
- Build and manage a pipeline through market research, prospecting and relationship development
- Develop relationships with payroll service bureau owners and industry stakeholders
- Lead cross-functional transaction activity across finance, legal, risk, operations, sales, HR and marketing
- Conduct due diligence and negotiate transaction terms, contracts and deal structures
- Oversee post-closing onboarding, conversion, upselling and retention
- Monitor acquisition performance and communicate results and strategic updates to leadership
- Refine acquisition strategy using market data, industry trends and digital sourcing tools
Requirements:
- Proven experience in M&A, sales leadership, business development or a related acquisition-focused role
- Experience managing the full transaction lifecycle from sourcing through integration
- Demonstrated P&L accountability
- Strong negotiation, financial analysis and strategic decision-making skills
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Experience in payroll, human capital management, banking or private equity advantageous
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
