Benefits Available: Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Pension Contribution, Benefit Time.Position Summary: The Registered Behavior Technician employee will work under the direction of certified staff to implement behavior plans and accommodations, collect data, and provide support to promote learning.Essential Functions:Implement Behavior Improvement PlansCollect/record behavioral and instructional dataImplement reinforcement systemsUtilize de-escalation techniquesAssist in activities of daily livingProvide teacher(s), BCBA, and administrators with reports as neededUnderstand underlying principles of applied behavior analysisProvide verbal and non-verbal intervention strategiesMaintain RBT credentialsParticipate in assigned trainingThe Registered Behavior Technician employee must be able to: Lift, push, and/or pull 50 pounds 1/2; Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation; Report all cases of suspected child abuse to appropriate school personnel and proper government authority.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Effective oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and other intervention strategies.Ability to follow student plans with fidelity.Ability to accept feedback and on-the-job coaching.Education and Experience:HS Diploma or equivalentRBT certificationExperience preferredWork Year: This is a 10 month, unaffiliated position.Exempt/ Non-Exempt: This position is non-exempt and unaffiliated.Reporting Responsibility: The Registered Behavior Technician is evaluated by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.Consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Connecticut law, it is the policy of the Regional School District 17 to provide a reasonable accommodation when requested by a qualified applicant or employee with a disability, unless such accommodation would cause an undue hardship.My signature below signifies that I have reviewed the contents of my job description and that I am aware of the requirements of my position._______________________________________ ____________________________________Signature Date 2/2
