Construction Superintendent / Assistant Construction Superintendent - Residential Construction

Role Description: The Construction Superintendent / Assistant Construction Superintendent will oversee day-to-day operations on residential construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to Woodland Partners’ quality standards. This full-time, on-site role is based in Darien, CT and involves coordinating subcontractors, managing inspections, and monitoring progress to align with project plans and specifications. The role includes reviewing drawings, managing site logistics, tracking materials and deliveries, and addressing issues or changes in the field. The superintendent will maintain safety practices, conduct regular site walks, and communicate clearly with clients, project managers, and trade partners. The role also involves assisting with project documentation, reporting, and contributing to continuous improvement in construction processes.

Qualifications: Construction site management skills, including overseeing daily field operations and coordinating subcontractors. Construction safety skills, including knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to enforce safe work practices. Strong organization skills to manage schedules, documentation, materials, and multiple tasks on active job sites. Budgeting skills to help monitor costs, track change orders, and support project managers in staying within financial targets. Project management skills to support planning, sequencing work, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones. Prior experience in residential construction, custom homes, or high-end renovations is highly beneficial. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes. Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients, designers, and trade partners. Proficiency with basic construction-related technology (email, digital plans, project management or scheduling tools).Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites in and around Darien, CT.
