Student Assistant - Writing Center Tutor

Writing Center TutorThe Writing Center is seeking candidates for the position of Writing Center Tutor. The MGA Writing Center provides one-on-one consultations to assist students at all levels with all types of writing. Responsibilities include working one-on-one with clients in face-to-face and video conference settings offering feedback, suggestions, and encouragement to clients on their writing; planning, publicizing, and running special events; offering writing workshops and possible classroom visits; and participating in orientation and ongoing training, as required. Required qualifications include being currently enrolled as a student at Middle Georgia State University, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, having a faculty recommendation attesting to writing ability and a supportive personality, completion of ENGL 1101 and 1102, or the equivalent, with at least a B, and good interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications include a current GPA of 3.00 or higher.
