Floating Pharmacy Technician

Join Giant Eagle as a Floating Pharmacy Technician supporting multiple in-store pharmacies across the region. In this role, you’ll travel between locations to provide coverage, process prescriptions, handle insurance information, and assist pharmacists with safe, accurate medication preparation. You’ll deliver friendly customer service, help manage inventory, and maintain compliance with all pharmacy regulations. Travel between assigned Giant Eagle locations to provide pharmacy technician support as needed Process prescriptions accurately, including data entry, labeling, and filing Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, counting, measuring, and packaging Verify patient and insurance information and resolve basic insurance rejections Operate pharmacy systems and registers, handling payments and maintaining accurate records Provide friendly, efficient customer service and respond to patient questions within scope Maintain medication storage standards, including rotation, dating, and inventory counts Follow all state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA, and company policies Help keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and fully stocked Support team members and adapt quickly to changing store assignments and schedules Retail pharmacy operations Prescription data entry Medication dispensing support Pharmacy inventory management Insurance and billing processing Point-of-sale (POS) systems HIPAA and pharmacy regulatory compliance Sterile and non-sterile handling best practices Customer service in healthcare setting Travel and schedule flexibility Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active or eligible state Pharmacy Technician registration or license, as required by state law National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between store locations
