About the role

The Town of Harrisburg, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced finance professional to serve as the Town's statutory Finance Officer and principal financial advisor. Reporting to the Deputy Town Manager and serving on the Executive Team, the Finance Director leads a department of eight and plays a key role in shaping the financial strategy of one of the Charlotte region's fastest-growing communities. The position oversees accounting, financial reporting, utility billing, and customer service, along with the Town's ACFR, annual audit and Single Audit, cash and investment management, debt and capital financing, and ten-year financial model and Capital Improvement Program ($109.0 million). Harrisburg recently earned the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting on its inaugural ACFR, providing a strong foundation for continued success.

Qualifications: Seven or more years of experience in governmental accounting, local government finance, or governmental auditing, including significant supervisory experience Experience preparing or auditing governmental financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards CPA strongly preferred NC Certified Local Government Finance Officer (CLGFO) preferred or obtained within three years of hire

Compensation & Benefits: The Town of Harrisburg offers a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional growth, and a collaborative work environment dedicated to shaping the community’s future. $4,500 sign-on bonus 6% Flexible Employer Contribution 15.10% LGERS employer contribution Prior LGERS service credited toward vacation accrual The hiring range is $118,393.00 - $147,269.00 (salary range up to $176,145) annually and starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and prior experience. Eligible for $4,500 sign-on bonus upon hire. Position open until filled.
