The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and developing the strategic vision, operating standards, and systems roadmap for the planning function. This includes owning the point of view for planning, making high-stakes decisions, and ensuring operational rigor to deliver a great customer experience and financial results through inventory. The role demands a proven executive leader with a strong background in merchandise planning, inventory management, and allocation, particularly in a wholesale retail business with a significant scale. The VP will also be tasked with building and driving the planning point of view behind the company's expansion, as well as owning the inventory strategy and health end-to-end. Applicants for the VP role at the company should have a track record of setting strategic vision and operating standards for a planning organization, as well as experience in high-stakes decision-making and the discipline to see those decisions through. The ideal candidate will be a strong people manager, capable of building a high-performance team culture, and will have a history of designing and scaling planning organizations. Fluency in inventory KPIs and experience with demand planning or allocation platform implementation is essential. The role requires a leader who is comfortable operating as a strategic partner to merchandising, supply chain, and data/finance leaders, and who is adept at using AI in their work.
