Music Teacher K-8|General Music & Instruments

Core Responsibilities: Deliver standards-aligned music instruction for students in grades K–8 Teach foundational music concepts, including: Rhythm, melody, harmony, and notation Music appreciation and history across genres and cultures Provide hands-on instruction in instrumental music, including: Keyboarding (piano basics)Guitar fundamentals Introduce students to a variety of musical styles, such as classical, contemporary, jazz, gospel, global music, and modern genres Incorporate vocal instruction and group performance opportunities Prepare students for performances, showcases, and school/community events Integrate STEAM connections (sound waves, frequency, patterns, technology in music production)Maintain and manage musical instruments and equipment Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of both elementary and middle school learners Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity Collaborate with staff to support school-wide programs and events Preferred Experience & Skills Experience teaching keyboard/piano and guitar in a school or youth setting Ability to teach multiple genres and culturally diverse music styles Familiarity with music technology (digital music tools, recording basics, or production software)Experience directing performances or student ensembles Strong classroom management and student engagement skills Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field Teaching certification (or eligibility) preferred Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students Proficiency in at least one primary instrument (keyboard or guitar preferred)Impact Goal To develop confident, creative, and musically literate students by providing diverse musical experiences and hands-on instrumental learning within a dynamic and engaging environment.
