The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is primarily responsible for implementing, optimizing, and supporting electro-mechanical systems, including automation, inspection technologies, and manufacturing equipment. This role plays a key part in identifying and determining root causes of equipment and process failures throughout the plant and developing effective corrective actions to improve reliability, quality, and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description - other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.* Recommend process improvements, support problem resolution efforts, and provide employee training to improve operational performance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality enhancement, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop, present, and implement improvement plans, including training and deployment activities for affected team members.
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment performance and process conditions to ensure optimal operation.
  • Lead investigations into manufacturing abnormalities, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify and recommend safety improvements and risk mitigation opportunities throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Support capacity planning analyses and return-on-investment (ROI) evaluations for current and future manufacturing initiatives.
  • Assist with time studies, labor analyses, and capital planning projects.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of production control systems, standard operating procedures, safety programs, quality systems, and training processes.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing implementation of new or modified equipment, including establishing objectives, training operators, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Design, develop, test, source, and cost-justify tooling, machinery, and equipment to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Conduct product and process analyses to improve quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Represent Manufacturing on cross-functional teams and support collaboration across departments.
  • Assemble mechanical and/or electronic devices and assemblies using engineering specifications, drawings, and layouts.
  • Perform PLC programming, automation support, troubleshooting, and system optimization activities.
  • Support equipment installation, startup, validation, and continuous operational improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Experience
  • Green Belt Status Preferred
  • Manufacturing experience in a fast paced/high volume metal working business preferred
  • CAD Knowledge
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to be approachable and tactful.
  • Good Math and computer skills. (Office, Word, Excel, etc.,)
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously.
