Senior Full Stack Software Engineer Location · Tempe, AZ6-month Contract to hire Hybrid role – 3 days a week on-site, 2 days a week at home Hourly rate and then salary conversion after contract terms What if your next release helped someone change careers, learn a new skill, or get back into education? We’re hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to build digital learning platforms that make education more accessible. You’ll join a startup-style product team where you can shape the architecture, write the code, and see what happens when it reaches real learners. If you’re equally happy sketching out an API, digging into a performance issue, or pairing with a junior engineer, you’ll have plenty to get your hands on. What you’ll build and own Ship features across the stack. Turn learner needs and early product ideas into technical designs, then break the work into pieces the team can test and ship in stages. Own your releases. Write tests, validate changes, monitor production, and troubleshoot issues after launch. Shape the architecture. Design APIs, improve AWS infrastructure, and help make decisions about data storage, security, and performance. Make the next release easier. Improve CI/CD pipelines, automate repetitive work, and write runbooks your teammates can actually use. Help the team grow. Mentor junior engineers, explain technical trade-offs clearly, and partner with product teams to balance new features with maintenance and reliability. What you’ll bring A bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Ideally, at least three years of software development experience on a product team, with experience delivering work in Agile sprints.5+ years of Hands-on experience with some of the team’s technologies, including TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Python, and PHP.Experience with AWS, software architecture, and troubleshooting, plus familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD.Clear communication skills and an interest in mentoring engineers and helping teams turn ambiguous requests into practical plans.
