Job Description: Job Description
Is This You?
Do you like turning raw metal and ceramic materials into precision parts?
Are you at home on a shop floor—measuring, cutting, assembling, and then packaging what you’ve built?
Can you jump from the shear to the fork truck, then over to the packing table and tender the shipping paperwork without missing a beat?
If that sounds right, you’ll thrive helping a small business in the thermal processing industry produce high-temperature heating components and furnace systems.
Role Snapshot:
Run metalworking equipment and power tools for shop fabrication.
Check quality using precision measuring tools before anything ships.
Package products, build skids, handle materials, and prepare/tender shipping documents.
Operate a fork truck and use slings and lifting apparatuses to move goods safely.
Keep areas clean and organized; perform routine, low-level preventive and corrective maintenance on shop tools and equipment.
Apply shop math—addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversions, geometry, and algebra—whenever the job calls for it.
Background That Fits:
Experience in auto mechanics, welding, or fabrication is preferred but not required. A mechanically minded problem-solver can learn the rest.
Conditions You’ll Encounter:
- Physical work can make up to 90% of annual hours.
- On your feet and moving around the shop for eight hours with designated breaks.
- Regular lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work near power-producing equipment and refractory materials.
- Occasional work at customer facilities, including confined spaces with elevated temperatures—always with a safety-first approach.
- Capabilities We Look ForMechanical troubleshooting
- Automotive repair and service systems, including oil changes
- Shipping/receiving accuracy and documentation
- Material handling experience
- Maintenance and repair fundamentals
