Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality metal parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber or CO2)
Load and unload raw materials (sheet metal, plate, etc.)
Read work orders, and identify material
Adjust machine settings to ensure precision cuts and optimal performance
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major problems to maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience operating laser cutting machines in a fabrication environment preferred
Ability to read measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 40 lbs] and stand for extended periods
Knowledge of different metals (steel, aluminum, stainless) is a plus
