Job Description
Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate multiple CNC machines in a low-volume, high-mix job shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC setup, programming, blueprint reading, GD&T, inspection, and troubleshooting experience and be able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate multiple CNC machine tools from initial setup through final production.
Perform complex machining operations to tight tolerances and required surface finishes.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, tool prints, and sketches.
Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs as required.
Operate FANUC controls, including wear and geometry offsets.
Use Renishaw probing systems for machine setup and measurements.
Set up and operate CMM equipment for precision inspection.
Inspect finished parts using gauges and precision measuring equipment.
Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
Enter and analyze SPC data and make process adjustments when needed.
Perform machine troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Complete scheduled TPM inspections and maintain equipment checklists.
Maintain 5S standards within the assigned work area.
Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen, SMED, and fixture improvement.
Apply safe rigging, crane, and hoist practices.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of CNC machining experience.
Strong CNC machine setup and operation experience.
Ability to interpret and edit CNC programs.
Proficiency with FANUC controls.
Strong knowledge of GD&T and precision inspection methods.
Ability to read complex engineering blueprints and drawings.
Knowledge of shop mathematics, including trigonometry and Pythagorean theorem.
Experience with precision measuring equipment and/or CMM.Ability to troubleshoot machining and production issues independently.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of basic rigging, crane/hoist operation, inspection, and safety practices.
High school diploma/GED required; Machine Tool Technology or related technical education preferred.
