Skilled Laborer/Collector - Highway/Sanitation Division

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months upon hire. Three (3) years of experience in construction, landscaping, building maintenance, or related field. Sign making/line striping experience is a plus. Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding labor. Familiarity with the operation of light and heavy‑duty equipment. Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and the general public. Successfully completing a Cori check and DOT pre‑employment physical including a drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications: Hoisting license or other relevant certifications. Experience with municipal or public works operations. Perks Paid on‑the‑job training.

Work schedule: Monday to Thursday (7 am‑4 pm) and Friday (7 am‑12 pm). Insurance benefits covered on first day of hire (no waiting period). Town retirement pension plus an additional LIUNA pension. Compensation $24.5240 per hour at Step 1. The full pay scale ranges from $24.5240 – $33.2152 per hour, with step increases outlined in the union agreement.
