Forklift Operator

Description: Purpose: Responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product materials.Reports to: Plant ManagerConditions:* Work in a production floor setting.* Long periods of sitting required.* Lift up to 50 lbs.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:* Move product materials around production floor.* Study production schedule to determine material requirements, movements and deliveries.* Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.* Unload product materials from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.* Adhere to documented policies and procedures defining safe and proper operation of vehicle, as well as the safety concerns of people, product, materials and facilities.* Accurately complete required documentation as well as daily checklists for vehicle operation characteristics.* Identify problems with job related equipment or vehicles.* Ensure that material or finished product is delivered to the required destination, within the required time frame without damage to material or product.* Verify and maintain good housekeeping procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment.* Perform daily equipment checks.* Maintain the visual appearance of the vehicles, including cleaning and painting of vehicles when required.* Ensure that product and/or material is transported in a safe, stable and efficient manner.* Identify potential or existing non-conforming conditions or material.* Collect bill of lading and verify quantities on incoming trucks.* Support and adhere to required, documented and defined procedures and work instructions including, but not limited to: food safety programs, OSHA regulations and PPE as designated.* Perform all other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
