About the role

Company Description: Alpha Bravo is a U.S.-based platform engineering and Dev Sec Ops firm focused exclusively on Department of Defense (DoD) missions. The company designs, builds, and operates hardened Kubernetes infrastructure in highly constrained and mission-critical environments. Its work spans classified networks, disconnected enclaves, undersea platforms, and active weapon systems where standard IT tools are not viable. Alpha Bravo is not a systems integrator, staffing company, or generalist IT services provider, but a specialized team delivering resilient, secure, and operationally ready infrastructure. Team members collaborate closely with defense partners to solve complex technical challenges that directly support national security objectives.
Role Description: Clearance is a must. The FDE role at Alpha Bravo is a full-time, hybrid position based in the United States, with a mix of on-site work and flexibility for remote work from home. The person in this role will design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms in secure, constrained, and mission-critical environments. Daily responsibilities include developing and deploying infrastructure-as-code, monitoring and troubleshooting platform performance, and implementing security controls in line with Dev Sec Ops best practices. The FDE will collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to support deployment pipelines, automate routine tasks, and ensure reliable delivery of platform capabilities to DoD customers. The role also involves documenting solutions, contributing to technical decision-making, and continuously improving system reliability and security.
Qualifications: Active clearance Experience with platform engineering, including container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) and infrastructure automation. Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops practices, secure software delivery pipelines, and CI/CD tooling. Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, Linux systems, and networking concepts relevant to secure and disconnected environments. Ability to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using modern tools and frameworks. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex platform and deployment issues. Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical partners. Ability to work in a hybrid setup, including on-site work in the United States and remote collaboration. Experience supporting DoD or other highly regulated, security-sensitive environments is beneficial. Eligibility to work on defense-related projects; existing security clearance or ability to obtain one is a plus.
