Field Installation Technician
Company: Install Health
Location: On the road, based near a major US airport hub
Reports to: Deployment Manager
Pay: $60,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience
About Install Health Install Health deploys AI-powered monitoring systems in senior living and healthcare facilities across the United States. We get the hardware installed, configured and running in assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities and hospitals, so care teams can respond faster and keep residents safer. We're a young company backed by an established healthcare technology partner, with a full pipeline of installation projects nationwide. If you want to help build something from the ground up, with steady work from day one, this is the opportunity.
The Role:
For the facilities we serve, you are the first in-person experience they have with the product. Residents, nurses and administrators will judge the whole program by how the install goes: whether you show up when you said you would, respect their space, and leave everything working. Doing that well is the core of this job. Day to day, you'll install and configure AI-powered sensors and computing devices. You'll drill and mount hardware on walls and ceilings, run cables (sometimes behind walls), configure devices through a mobile app, and confirm everything is online before you leave. A typical room takes about 30 minutes. A typical site takes several days, depending on size. This is a travel-heavy, field-based role. You'll fly to customer sites across the country, manage your own schedule and logistics, and coordinate directly with facility staff. You'll often work independently, so we need someone we can trust to get it done right without supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and quality
- Mount sensors and computing devices on walls and ceilings for the right placement and coverage.
- Run and manage cabling, including routing cable behind walls where required.
- Configure devices with a mobile app and verify that every system is online and sending data correctly.
- Follow our standard installation checklist and document each room, including photos, so every site meets the same quality bar.
- Work alongside our install partners on site and check that their work meets our standards.
- Troubleshoot issues on site. When you can't resolve something, escalate quickly with the details needed to fix it.
- Customer experience
- Coordinate with facility administrators, nursing staff and IT teams to schedule work around residents and care routines.
- Respect resident privacy and dignity at all times. You are a guest in someone's home.
- Follow each facility's infection-control and safety protocols.
- Close out every site go-live ready: walk the site contact through what was installed and where, and get sign-off.
- Hand off to our Customer Success team with clear notes on anything site-specific, so staff training starts smoothly.
- Share what you hear on site, such as staff questions, concerns and product issues, so we can improve the product and the process.
- Planning and logistics
- Conduct pre-installation site surveys: review floor plans and room layouts, check power and network availability, and plan the install.
- Book your own flights, hotels and rental cars on a company card, and manage your schedule to meet deployment timelines.
- Track hardware inventory, manage shipping and receiving to job sites, and keep accurate records of what's been deployed where.
- Keep the Deployment Manager updated on status, timelines and risks across your sites.
What We're Looking For:
Hands-on installation experience: mounting hardware, drilling, basic carpentry and cable management. You're comfortable with power tools and ladders.
Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time across the continental US, including multi-day trips.
A valid driver's license.
Ability to pass a background check and any health screening our customer facilities require (for example, a TB test).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders for extended periods.
Basic networking comfort: connecting devices to Wi-Fi and troubleshooting a connection that isn't working. You don't need to be an IT engineer, but you shouldn't be afraid of a router.
Experience in or around senior living, healthcare or other sensitive environments is strongly preferred.
Self-directed and reliable. You plan your week, show up when you say you will, and deliver quality work without being micromanaged.
Clear communication with facility staff and with our team, especially when something goes wrong.
Nice to Have:
Low-voltage wiring or cabling experience, or a low-voltage license.
Experience installing cameras, AV equipment or IoT devices.
Experience leading or supervising subcontracted installers.
Experience at a startup or small company, and comfort with the pace and change that come with one.
Trade certifications related to installation work.
What Success Looks Like:
In your first 90 days, you'll be running installs independently, sites will go live without return trips, and facility contacts will be glad to have you back.
Location:
Based in the continental United States, near a major airport hub such as Denver, Atlanta, Dallas or Chicago. This role requires frequent air travel. There's no time zone requirement; flexibility matters more.
What We Offer:
Salary of $60,000 to $90,000, depending on experience. Candidates with low-voltage experience, installer oversight experience or senior living background are positioned toward the higher end.
Paid time off.
All travel expenses covered on a company card: flights, hotels, rental cars and meals.
A ground-floor role at a growing company with a full pipeline of work.
Work that matters: every installation helps care staff keep residents safer.
About You:
You show up, do the job well and treat people right. You're comfortable on the road, working independently and solving problems in the field. You take pride in clean, quality work, and you understand that how you treat a facility's staff and residents matters as much as the install itself. You plan your week, get on the plane and get it done. If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
Benefits: Flexible schedule
Work Location: On the road
