Music Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide engaging lessons in our retail store. You’ll teach private and group classes to students of all ages, focusing on fundamental technique, music theory, and performance skills. Partner with a collaborative, student-focused team to support lesson enrollment, recitals, and community events. Ideal candidates have prior teaching experience, strong musicianship, and excellent communication skills. This role combines hands-on music education with the opportunity to promote instruments, rentals, and educational services in a mission-driven retail setting. Deliver high-quality private and group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Create and follow lesson plans aligned with student goals and curriculum standards Assess student progress and provide clear feedback to students and parents Support store initiatives by encouraging lesson enrollment and retention Collaborate with store staff to coordinate schedules, recitals, and events Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Accurately record attendance, progress notes, and required documentation Care for instruments, equipment, and teaching spaces Participate in recitals, workshops, and community events as needed Uphold Music & Arts’ student-focused, service-driven culture Classroom music instruction Lesson planning Student assessment Music theory knowledge Instrumental/vocal technique Classroom management Retail point-of-sale systems Customer service Parent communication Basic computer skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Degree in Music Education or Performance preferred State teaching certification a plus Background check eligibility Experience teaching multiple instruments or voice preferred
