Principal UI Designer

Overview As Principal UI Designer for Sportsbook, you shape the visual language and interaction style of Fan Duel’s sportsbook experiences. You’ll partner across Product Design, Engineering, Brand and Leadership to set visual direction that is intuitive, premium and emotionally engaging across iOS, Android and Web. You lead by example, guiding craft, systems and AI-enabled workflows while ensuring accessibility and brand expression align with business goals. Compensation / Benefitshealth plansPTO and sick leaveannual bonus 401k with matchcommuter benefitspet insurance Responsibilities Define the visual quality bar for Sportsbook across platforms Shape and codify visual, interaction and motion principles and design systems Collaborate with Product Design, PM, Engineering, Brand and Formation to scale visual direction Drive design language evolution while maintaining consistency and enabling innovation Champion accessibility and inclusive design without compromising craft or brand Explore AI-enabled workflows and platform technologies to expand customer experiences Lead concept exploration and rapid prototyping to envision ambitious experiences Establish reusable libraries, templates, prompts and tooling for design efficiency Influence engineering to ensure production quality reflects design intent Coach designers through critique, pairing, workshops, and hands-on leadership Represent Product Design in executive discussions where visual quality is strategic Key requirements Exceptional visual design portfolio Deep expertise in typography, layout, hierarchy, color, interaction, motion and storytelling Strong understanding of iOS, Android and Web conventions and patterns Experience defining scalable visual systems and reusable design frameworks Ability to balance brand, usability, accessibility and business objectives Proven ability to define visual direction and elevate product quality at scale Influence across teams and senior stakeholders without formal management Experience partnering with engineering for high-quality implementations Understanding of AI-assisted design workflows and how AI enhances design thinking Mentorship and coaching of designers to raise craft standards Clear design point of view and ability to inspire through vision and executioncollaborationmentorshipstrategic influencetypographylayouthierarchy
