About the role

Description. This is a contract, on-site position within the Medical Practice industry, offering a unique opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Locum Primary Care Physician, you will deliver comprehensive, patient-centered medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for a diverse patient population. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence throughout your assignment.
Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across a range of ages and conditions Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and assess health status Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and preventive care strategies Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and laboratory results Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and wellness Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and quality standards of the medical practice Participate in case reviews and clinical discussions to support continuous improvement Provide referrals to appropriate specialists when advanced care is required
Requirements: MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care Associate-level experience in a primary care or clinical practice setting Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with patients and colleagues Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented medical environment Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practice Willingness to work on-site in Montevideo for the duration of the contract Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical settings and patient populations
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-4:30p) No call requirement
Setting: Outpatient Patient Volume: 12 per day
Responsibilities: Preventative care, physicals, screenings, treatment, medication management, and diagnoses
EMR: CPRS Any state license accepted Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Additional Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and DEA Paid travel & expenses
