Blue Yonder Transportation Management System (TMS) Functional ConsultantLocations: Austin, TX Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite 5 Days/Week Employment: Contract Experience: 7+ years overall; 5+ years Blue Yonder TMS preferredRole Overview: We are seeking an experienced Blue Yonder TMS Functional Consultant to support transportation management implementation, enhancement, configuration, and production operations. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, transportation/logistics teams, technical teams, and offshore delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable Blue Yonder TMS solutions. Blue Yonder TMS covers transportation planning, optimization, load building, execution, carrier management, visibility, procurement, and freight settlement.Key Responsibilities:Lead functional analysis, configuration, implementation and enhancement of Blue Yonder Transportation Management solutions.Gather requirements from transportation, logistics, supply-chain and business stakeholders and translate them into functional and support transportation planning, optimization, shipment execution, tendering, routing, carrier management and freight settlement.Work on transportation modeling, rates, lanes, calendars, equipment, locations, carriers and routing guides.Support load planning, consolidation, multi-stop/multi-leg shipments and transportation and troubleshoot auto-tendering, carrier selection, shipment lifecycle and exception-management processes.Work with integration teams on interfaces between Blue Yonder TMS and ERP, WMS, OMS, carrier and external logistics systems.Participate in functional testing, SIT, UAT, defect resolution, production deployment and post-production support.Analyze transportation processes and recommend improvements to cost, service levels, utilization and operational efficiency.Create functional specifications, process flows, configuration documents, test scenarios and user with technical teams on APIs, integrations, data mapping and external-system connectivity.Provide Tier-2/Tier-3 functional support and perform root-cause analysis for production issues.Coordinate with offshore/global development teams and manage deliverables across multiple workstreams.Participate in Blue Yonder upgrades/releases and evaluate impacts of new TMS functionality.Support business users and provide training on new functionality and process changes.Required Skills:Blue Yonder TMS / Transportation ManagerStrong functional/configuration experienceTransportation planning and executionTransportation optimizationLoad building and consolidationCarrier management and tenderingRouting guides and rate managementFreight settlement / auditShipment lifecycle managementTransportation modelingException managementFunctional requirements & documentationSIT / UAT / production supportERP/WMS/TMS integration experienceStrong SQL/data analysis skills preferredExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skillsPreferred Experience:Blue Yonder TMS implementation or upgrade experienceExperience with JDA Transportation Management / legacy JDA TMSExperience in retail, client, manufacturing, semiconductor, logistics or distributionExperience integrating TMS with SAP, Oracle, WMS or OMSExperience with cloud-based Blue Yonder implementationsExperience supporting large-scale transportation networksKnowledge of multimodal transportation: TL, LTL, parcel, rail and oceanExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologyCandidate Must-Haves:Hands-on Blue Yonder TMS functional experienceStrong transportation/logistics domain knowledgeConfiguration and implementation experienceExcellent requirements-gathering skillsStrong communication and stakeholder managementWillingness to work 5 days onsiteAbility to work from Austin, TXNot a fit: Candidates with only generic supply-chain consulting experience but no hands-on Blue Yonder TMS experience.Ideal Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a Blue Yonder TMS Functional SME who can independently interact with business stakeholders, understand transportation processes, configure the TMS, troubleshoot functional issues, coordinate with technical/integration teams, and drive requirements through UAT and production.
