Systems Administrator (TS/SCI Full Scope Poly)

Location: Ft. Meade, MD area (on-site)

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must have been adjudicated in Maryland)

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Level 2 Systems Administrator to support a government client's IT infrastructure in the Ft. Meade, MD area. This role provides hands-on support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems, with a strong focus on UNIX/Linux and Windows environments, network components, and day-to-day operational reliability. Ideal candidates are hands-on technologists who enjoy solving infrastructure problems — whether that's optimizing enterprise systems on the job or tinkering with homelabs and firewalls on their own time.

Responsibilities: Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems across client/server/storage/network/mobile device environments Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems, including day-to-day monitoring and issue resolution Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems; install/load OS software; troubleshoot and maintain system integrity Configure network components and implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning Provide detailed analysis and status updates to management and internal customers on escalated tickets Support the dispatch process for hardware issues and stay engaged through resolution Assist end users in accessing and using IT systems effectively

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant systems administration experience Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, adjudicated in Maryland Strong hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows Server environments Experience with network administration, Active Directory, and firewall configuration Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, storage, and network layers Excellent communication skills for interfacing with technical teams and end usersif you are interested please share your resume at anubhav@redbeardsol.com
