About the role

Description: This contract position is an on-site role that provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Locum MD in Cardiothoracic Surgery, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, performing surgical procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in advancing the quality of care within our healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and expertise
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and consultations
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff
  • Monitor patient progress and provide post-operative care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff
Requirements:
  • MD degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Active medical license in the state of practice
  • Previous experience in a cardiothoracic surgery setting preferred
  • Strong surgical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts (7a-7a), specific dates
Daily Volume: 1-2 surgeries Case Types: Bypass, mitral valves, aortic valves, pericardial windows, tricuspid valves, etc. Support Staff: NPEMR: EpicMust be board-certified or board-eligible Paid travel & expenses
