Deadline: Sep 09, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine atthe University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate orFull Professor position in the non-tenure clinician-educator track. The selected candidate will serve as the Division Chief of Breast Imaging in the Department of Radiology. Applicants must have anM.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates in this trackmust have demonstrated exceptional clinical, research, and teachingskills. Applicants must be American Board of Radiology certified oreligible with subspecialty training in Breast Radiology. Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision ofresidents and fellows and didactic teaching for medical students, radiology residents, fellows, and trainees from other departments. In addition, the candidate would be expected to participate ineducational and/or other scholarly activities within and beyond Penn Radiology, such as preparing learning materials, lectures, andeducational exhibits for national meetings, as well as mentorshipand sponsorship. Clinical responsibilities may include interpretation of breastimaging studies and performance of procedures involving allmodalities (tomosynthesis (including contrast-enhancedmammography), ultrasound, and MRI) at a subspecialty levelcommensurate with a quaternary care center. The successfulcandidate will also participate in shared after-hour coverage, asneeded. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading afocused body of research in a field within breast imaging. Thisincludes the application of imaging to detect, diagnose or evaluatediseases of the breast, as well as studies of the clinical impactof imaging in the diagnosis of these diseases. The successfulcandidate in the clinician-educator track will have prior researchexperience, have demonstrated evidence of peer-reviewedscholarship, and be expected to provide mentorship to aspiringjunior faculty seeking to develop a research career in the field ofBreast Imaging. Successful applicants should have a compelling, patient-firstvision for Breast Imaging, focused on delivering exceptional careto the communities that Penn serves, while also breaking new groundin the field, and leading at national and international levels. They should demonstrate strong leadership skills, and a nationalreputation for clinical excellence and for prioritizing researchand innovation. A track record of mentoring learners and/or juniorfaculty will be considered an important strength, as will doing soin the context of research and other scholarly activities. Administrative responsibilities will span the tripartite mission, and include operational execution, as well as recruiting, developing, and retaining a distinct group of faculty dedicated topracticing in a highly subspecialized and dynamicenvironment. The section interprets close to 65,000 examinations per yearperformed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, and additional associated practices. Research resources within Penn Radiology include dedicated 1.5T,3T, and 7T MRI systems and a comprehensive scientificinfrastructure with programs focusing on applications ofquantitative image analysis, imaging genomics, molecular imagingand precision diagnostics and therapies, hyperpolarized gases, artificial intelligence, and health services research. Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and NewJersey; a new site of care in Delaware is expected in the Spring of2027. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience. Rankwill be commensurate with experience.
