The Senior Industrial Engineer serves as a Manufacturing Systems Design (MSD), Lean Manufacturing, and Digitalization Subject Matter Expert responsible for improving manufacturing performance through system design, continuous improvement, automation, and Industry 4.0 initiatives. This role partners with global manufacturing teams to optimize factory operations, support equipment and launch activities, drive digital transformation, and develop engineering capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate is a recognized Manufacturing Systems Design, Lean Manufacturing, and Digitalization expert who can lead workshops, challenge equipment and process designs, drive automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives, coach engineering teams, and deploy manufacturing excellence practices across the organization while bridging traditional Industrial Engineering disciplines with the future of digital manufacturing.

Job Purpose: The Senior Industrial Engineer serves as a Manufacturing Systems Design (MSD), Lean Manufacturing, and Digitalization Subject Matter Expert responsible for improving manufacturing performance through system design, continuous improvement, automation, and Industry 4.0 initiatives. This role partners with global manufacturing teams to optimize factory operations, support equipment and launch activities, drive digital transformation, and develop engineering capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate is a recognized Manufacturing Systems Design, Lean Manufacturing, and Digitalization expert who can lead workshops, challenge equipment and process designs, drive automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives, coach engineering teams, and deploy manufacturing excellence practices across the organization while bridging traditional Industrial Engineering disciplines with the future of digital manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Systems Design & Optimization: Lead manufacturing system design activities including factory flow design, capacity planning, line balancing, material flow optimization, facility layouts, and future‑state manufacturing development. Conduct manufacturing assessments and identify opportunities to improve productivity, flexibility, throughput, and capacity utilization. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, problem solving, waste elimination, standard work, and productivity improvement. Drive operational excellence through the deployment of manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement strategies. Equipment & Manufacturing Readiness: Lead Equipment Concept Reviews (ECR), Equipment Design Reviews (EDR), FAT/SAT activities, Run Rate validations, and manufacturing readiness assessments. Evaluate automation concepts, equipment scalability, manufacturing effectiveness, and process robustness. Digitalization & Industry 4.0: Support the deployment of manufacturing digitalization initiatives, including manufacturing analytics, OEE systems, automation, machine vision, smart sensors, AI‑enabled manufacturing solutions, and data‑driven decision making. Partner with manufacturing and IT teams to implement smart factory technologies and digital manufacturing roadmaps. Launch Support & Factory Planning: Support new product launches through SPQVC gap‑closure activities and launch readiness reviews. Lead plant layout development, footprint optimization, material flow improvements, and long‑term manufacturing capacity planning. Leadership, Training & Capability Development: Facilitate manufacturing systems design, Lean Manufacturing, and equipment design workshops. Train, coach, and mentor manufacturing engineering teams while promoting standardized manufacturing excellence practices across multiple sites and regions. Influence cross‑functional teams and lead improvement initiatives without direct authority.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience. Demonstrated expertise in: Manufacturing Systems Design, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, Factory Layout and Capacity Planning, Equipment Design and Manufacturing Readiness, Industrial Engineering Methods and Productivity Improvement. Strong facilitation, project management, and problem‑solving skills. Experience working in a global manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification. Experience with automation, machine vision, AI applications, and smart manufacturing technologies. Knowledge of Industry 4.0, Industrial IoT, manufacturing analytics, and digital manufacturing systems. Experience leading cross‑functional projects and technical workshops. Salary Range$107,600 - $147,950
