Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred, will consider (Resource Team) Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Stroke, COPD, Chest Pain, Altered Mental Status, GI bleed Patient Ratios:
RN:
1:5-6, acuity dependent - (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8)LPN: 1:5-6, acuity dependent - (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8)CNA: 1:9Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills required:
General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience/NIH assessments, Chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps
Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVFSupport within the Department:
CNA:
Duties: Yes, CNA s can insert foleys if certified and remove IV s for Discharge if certified, in addition to Vitals, ADLs, etc.
Receptionist/HUC: Dayshift only
Charge nurse – may or may not have patient assignment
Phlebotomy, 24/7No designated IV/VAT TeamRT, 24/7Hospitalist, 24/7Telemetry monitoring/tech: YesTechnology/Equipment:

Monitors: Philips Floating: If yes, where: Within region and scope of practice Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arisesIf floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) Orientation (facility and unit):NEO2 days departmental Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other No call Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidaysRTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
