Utility Plant Technician I Title: Utility Plant Technician I Department: Water Production Salary Range: $16.75/hourly Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Description Maintain irrigation systems. Maintains daily logs and records. Checks all equipment. Performs preventive maintenance. Performs minor laboratory work. May operate equipment on occasion, such as tractor, trucks, pumps, and machinery. Answers telephone calls and dispatches emergency crew. Monitors and operates computers for alarms and proper operation of wells, water, and wastewater plants. Able to perform shift work as assigned. The list of essential functions, as outlines herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any position in the class. The omission of an essential does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. Knowledge of use of simple hand and power tools. Ability to learn streets and facility locations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by the work. Ability to fill out reports and work orders with good penmanship. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public. Ability to read and write. Ability to work independently in a diligent manner.
