YOU MUST LIVE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA TO BE CONSIDEREDThis is an in-person position on Saturdays and Friday afternoons in Belmont, Ca.
About Us:
Since 2018 the Academy of Design has been an incubator for the next generation of designers. We believe in inspiring and nurturing the creativity in each child through the process of design. Our program introduces kids ages 8-13 to the basics of fashion design, from mood boards, to sketching, to fabric selection, to sewing and fitting. We are proud of the inclusive and fun environment we have created.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and engineer a garment from a tech sketch
- Utilize a library of blocks to build a unique garment
- Teach basic machine sewing and construction
- Provide positive support and guidance to help students realize their vision.
Qualifications:
- MUST know how to sew wellMUST enjoy working with kids
- Experience in fashion design or retail is a plus
- Previous teaching experience is a plus
