We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical/HVAC Superintendent to lead the installation, coordination and commissioning of mechanical services on a major high-rise construction project. The successful candidate will oversee all HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and associated building-services activities from early installation through to testing, commissioning and handover. This is a site-based leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, sound commercial awareness and the ability to manage complex works within a demanding construction environment. Responsibilities will include directing mechanical subcontractors, supervisors and site teams; reviewing drawings, specifications and construction programmes; coordinating mechanical works with structural, architectural, electrical and specialist contractors; and ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will monitor progress against key milestones, identify and resolve technical issues, support inspections, and maintain accurate records of completed works, variations, defects and commissioning activities. The role will also involve attending coordination and progress meetings, liaising with consultants and project leadership, managing permits and method statements, and ensuring compliance with current UK health and safety, environmental and building regulations. Applicants should have substantial experience supervising mechanical or HVAC services on high-rise, commercial, residential or similarly complex construction projects. A strong understanding of building-services installation, testing and commissioning is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings, schedules and specifications. Relevant mechanical engineering or building-services qualifications are desirable, as are recognised site safety certifications and experience working within structured quality-assurance systems. You will be a confident communicator and practical problem-solver, capable of leading multiple teams, maintaining high standards under pressure and building effective relationships with project stakeholders. A proactive approach, excellent organisational skills and a commitment to safe, right-first-time delivery are essential.
