Surgical OR Tech Ortho

Medical City Healthcare seeks a Surgical OR Tech specializing in orthopedic procedures on a PRN basis. In a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, you will prepare operating rooms, manage sterile instruments, and assist surgeons during complex ortho cases. Responsibilities include verifying equipment, maintaining strict aseptic technique, handling specimens, and ensuring accurate counts. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, supporting patient safety and efficiency. Prepare and set up orthopedic operating rooms and equipment Maintain sterile field and follow strict aseptic techniques Assist surgeons during orthopedic procedures Perform and document instrument, sponge, and needle counts Operate, clean, and store surgical instruments and equipment Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping Handle and label surgical specimens accurately Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff Monitor and restock OR supplies for orthopedic procedures Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Orthopedic surgical procedures Sterile processing and aseptic technique Surgical instrument identification and handling Operating room equipment operation Surgical counts and documentation Patient positioning and draping Infection control and safety protocols Specimen handling and labeling Electronic health record documentation Team communication in perioperative setting Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Orthopedic specialty OR experience preferred Knowledge of AORN standards and OR protocols
