Investment Banking Associate
Location: Denver, CO
Overview: Our client, a leading national middle market investment bank, is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its Denver office. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior bankers and clients on a broad range of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory engagements across multiple industries. The Associate will play a key role in transaction execution, financial analysis, client presentations, and managing analysts throughout the deal process. Key Responsibilities: Execute sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, debt placements, equity raises, and strategic advisory engagements. Build and oversee complex financial models, including valuation analyses, merger models, LBOs, operating models, and accretion/dilution analyses. Prepare marketing materials, pitch books, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), management presentations, and board materials. Conduct financial, industry, and company-specific research and analysis. Manage due diligence processes and data rooms while coordinating with clients, attorneys, accountants, and other transaction participants. Develop and maintain financial and valuation models to support transaction recommendations. Mentor and supervise investment banking analysts, reviewing work product and providing guidance throughout deal execution. Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and business development initiatives.
Qualifications: 3-6 years of investment banking experience, preferably with a middle market advisory firm or investment bank. Strong M&A transaction experience with demonstrated involvement in live deal execution. Advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CFA, or other advanced credentials are a plus. Preferred ExperienceExperience working on sell-side M&A transactions. Exposure to founder-owned, family-owned, and private equity-backed businesses. Strong understanding of middle market transaction dynamics. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across deal teams.
