Overview:
M&J Engineering, D.P.C. (M&J) is a quality provider of multi-disciplined consulting services. Since its inception in 2004, M&J has grown into diversified provider of construction management, construction inspection, engineering, technology, and environmental services to a broad range of clients, including federal, state and city/local agencies, private owners, architects, engineers, and contractors. M&J is a leader in construction management and inspection, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel airport, port, marine/coastal, environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations. M&J is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leaderto support bridge inspection and structural engineering projects throughout the DMV region. The successful candidate will lead inspection teams, manage field operations, coordinate with clients and government agencies, and contribute to the successful delivery of bridge inspection and rehabilitation projects.
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Performing on-site safety inspections of bridges and culverts
- Leading a team of inspectors in the field during inspections
- Scheduling and coordinating inspections, personnel, vendors, stakeholders, maintenance of traffic
- Operating access equipment and other equipment to perform inspections
- Reviewing and updating bridge inspection reports
- Developing repair recommendations
- Reviewing structural analysis data
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Successful completion of:
NHI Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges), orNHI Course Nos. 130056 and 130078.Minimum of five (5) years of bridge inspection experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience serving as a qualified NBIS Team Leader.
Strong knowledge of National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel locally throughout the DMV region (approximately 50% travel).Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
PreferredNHI Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges certification.
NHI Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures certification.
SPRAT Level I Technician certification or willingness to obtain certification.
OSHA 30 certification.
Aerial Lift certification.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
