Field Training Specialist The Field Training Specialist is a full-time, field-based position supporting Wingstop restaurants throughout Minnesota. This role serves as a hands-on training partner to restaurant teams and Operations leadership, helping ensure our restaurants consistently execute Wingstop and OM Group standards. The Field Training Specialist will spend the majority of their time inside our restaurants, working side-by-side with General Managers, restaurant leaders, and team members. This position is responsible for facilitating new-hire and manager training, supporting new restaurant openings, strengthening operational execution, identifying performance gaps, and providing practical coaching that improves restaurant performance. This is not a traditional classroom training position. The ideal candidate is comfortable jumping into restaurant operations, demonstrating standards, coaching in real time, and helping teams translate training into consistent execution.
Key Responsibilities: Facilitate hands-on training for team members, managers, and restaurant leadership. Support new restaurant openings (NROs) throughout Minnesota, including pre-opening training and post-opening operational support. Conduct onboarding and training for newly hired and promoted restaurant managers. Coach restaurant teams on Wingstop operational standards, procedures, and best practices. Train and reinforce expectations related to guest experience, food quality, food safety, speed of service, cleanliness, and operational execution. Observe restaurant operations and identify training or performance gaps. Develop action plans and provide follow-up coaching to improve execution. Partner closely with District Managers, General Managers, and Operations leadership to identify training priorities. Support restaurants experiencing performance challenges through targeted retraining and hands-on coaching. Reinforce proper station deployment, positioning, shift execution, opening and closing procedures, and restaurant routines. Support the rollout and adoption of new operational programs, systems, products, and company initiatives. Utilize company training programs, learning systems, job aids, and operational tools to reinforce standards. Track training completion, certifications, coaching activities, and follow-up needs. Assist in developing and improving practical training materials, job aids, and restaurant learning resources. Help identify and develop high-potential team members and future restaurant leaders. Model OM Group's expectations for professionalism, accountability, hospitality, teamwork, and leadership. Provide ongoing feedback to Operations leadership regarding restaurant training needs, opportunities, and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in restaurant operations, hospitality, training, or multi-unit restaurant support strongly preferred.
  • Restaurant management or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience training, coaching, or developing hourly team members and restaurant managers.
  • Strong verbal communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and hold teams accountable to established standards.
  • Strong understanding of guest service and the ability to model and teach hospitality-focused behaviors.
  • Ability to learn restaurant systems, operational procedures, and brand standards quickly.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to support multiple restaurants and priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced restaurant environment and providing hands-on operational support.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal restaurant operational activities while training.
  • Comfortable using basic office software, presentation tools, and learning management systems.
  • Travel & Schedule Expectations:
  • This is a field-based role supporting Wingstop locations throughout Minnesota.
  • Regular travel between restaurant locations is required.
  • The position will primarily support the Minneapolis metro and surrounding Minnesota markets, with additional travel based on business and new restaurant opening needs.
  • Schedule flexibility is required, including occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours during new restaurant openings and major training initiatives.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
