Senior Accountant, Payroll Tax

Sr. Accountant, Payroll TaxThe Sr. Accountant, Payroll Tax oversees the payroll tax function, ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations. Manages payroll tax filings, remittances, and reconciliations. This role supports strategic initiatives related to payroll tax operations, and provides guidance to the Payroll Tax team, ensuring accurate and timely execution of payroll tax responsibilities.

Provide timely responses to all customers and users of payroll tax information. Provide specific requests to both inside and outside auditors. Ensure compliance with all SOX controls. Partner with payroll systems support to ensure that systems and reports are efficient, accurate and in compliance with Company controls. Participate cross functionally to support SOPs and projects. Assist with internal/external audit requests. Lead special projects as identified by payroll management team Provide WOW! Customer Service to AutoZoners and internal stakeholders Lead two staff members indirectly reporting to this position Oversee the payroll tax processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Company's payroll tax expenses and liabilities Manage the reconciliation of all payroll tax general ledger accounts. Provide reconciling differences and clearing entries on a timely basis
