About the role

NOW HIRING!Metal Building IndustryDESIGN ENGINEER, PESome engineering roles are about producing drawings. This one is about shaping the future of an engineering team. As an experienced Structural Design Engineer, you'll step into a role where your technical judgment carries real weight. You'll design complex pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects, review the work of other engineers, and help build the processes that allow the organization to scale. This isn't a position for someone who simply knows how to run MBS. It's for an engineer who understands why the software produces the answers it does and knows when those answers need to be challenged. If you enjoy solving complex structural problems, mentoring others through your expertise, and becoming a trusted technical resource, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
What You'll Be Doing: You'll spend your time designing and reviewing a wide variety of PEMB projects while partnering with estimating and engineering teams to ensure projects move efficiently from concept through production. As the organization continues investing in its engineering capabilities, you'll also play an important role in maintaining quality standards, improving workflows, and helping less experienced designers continue to develop. Because the company has invested heavily in growing an international engineering team, you'll serve as one of the experienced U.S.-based engineers responsible for reviewing and validating production work while contributing your own designs on more complex projects.
What We're Looking For: Success in this role comes from experience, not simply software familiarity. We're looking for an engineer who has meaningful production design experience within the pre-engineered metal building industry and is comfortable using Metal Building Software (MBS) as a design tool rather than simply an automated calculation program. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable, as is the ability to independently evaluate complex structural conditions and make sound engineering decisions. Experience in estimating or design estimating is also highly valued, as it often provides the broader project perspective that leads to stronger engineering judgment.
Work Setup & Compensation: This position is ideally based onsite in the Pacific Northwest, although remote candidates with the right technical background will be considered. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, quarterly bonus opportunities, comprehensive health benefits, company-paid life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) with company matching.
Why Join: This opportunity offers far more than another engineering seat. You'll become part of the long-term engineering strategy of an established organization that is investing in its future, expanding its technical capabilities, and creating opportunities for experienced engineers to influence how work gets done. If you're looking for a role where your expertise is trusted, your ideas matter, and your impact extends beyond the projects on your desk, this is the kind of opportunity that doesn't come along often.
