Director of Engineering

Marriott is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead property engineering and technical operations across our hotels. In this role, you will own strategy for building systems, preventive maintenance, and capital projects to ensure safe, efficient, and guest-ready facilities. You will guide a multi-site engineering team, optimize energy performance, manage vendors and budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Partnering closely with operations, you will drive innovation and reliability while developing talent within Marriott’s people-first, inclusive culture. Lead engineering strategy and execution for hotel systems and infrastructure Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of property technology and facilities engineering Partner with operations, IT, and corporate teams to improve reliability, safety, and energy efficiency Manage engineering budget, vendor relationships, and capital projects Develop and mentor engineering managers and technicians across assigned properties Ensure compliance with safety, building, and regulatory standards Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and guest impact Drive continuous improvement using data, KPIs, and guest feedback Support opening, renovation, and modernization projects for hotels and resorts Promote a culture of service, collaboration, and innovation within engineering teams Facilities engineering management Building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) Project and capital budget management Preventive maintenance planning Vendor and contractor management Regulatory and safety compliance Energy management and sustainability Multi-site operations leadership Data-driven performance management (KPIs) Technical documentation and reporting Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Certified Facility Manager (CFM) preferred Certified Energy Manager (CEM) a plus OSHA safety training/certification Hospitality facilities or building operations certifications a plus
