Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

ChristianaCare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our HomeHealth team. This role involves assisting patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining daily living and work skills, with services delivered at patients’ homes within the Delaware community. As an integral part of our non-profit health system, which emphasizes advanced, specialty, and primary care, you will play a critical role in enhancing patient quality of life and promoting independence through tailored therapeutic interventions. Assess patient health and physical condition to identify occupational therapy needs at home. Implement and administer occupational therapy treatment plans based on physician orders and occupational therapist recommendations. Assist patients in performing therapeutic occupational exercises and using supportive devices. Educate patients and families on home health care strategies and maintenance routines. Document patient progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly. Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment within the patient’s home. Knowledge of therapeutic practices and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficient in maintaining accurate patient records.
