Senior AV Design Engineer

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 Base + Bonus

About the Opportunity: EqualAccess is partnering with an established commercial technology solutions provider seeking a Senior AV Solutions Engineer to lead the design and development of enterprise audio-visual (AV) and collaboration solutions. This is an opportunity for an experienced AV Design Engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer-facing solution design. You'll work directly with sales teams and enterprise clients to develop AV solutions for conference rooms, executive boardrooms, collaboration spaces, and larger presentation environments. You'll also play an important role in growing the company's AV practice by helping establish technical standards, improving design processes, and developing scalable solutions. This is a technical leadership position with significant pre-sales involvement not a quota-carrying sales role.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the design of enterprise AV, video conferencing, and unified collaboration solutions. Partner with sales teams on customer discovery, site surveys, technical presentations, and solution recommendations. Design Cisco-based collaboration environments and integrated AV systems for small, medium, and large conference rooms. Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), labor estimates, scopes of work, technical proposals, and system designs. Create and review AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and technical documentation using AutoCAD. Design and support audio, video, control, and DSP solutions for conference rooms and larger presentation spaces. Collaborate with project managers, installation teams, architects, and contractors throughout implementation. Provide technical guidance during deployment, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Establish AV design standards, documentation templates, and repeatable solutions to support practice growth. Serve as a technical subject matter expert for customers, sales teams, and internal engineering teams.

Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in commercial AV design engineering, pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, or AV solutions architecture. Strong experience designing enterprise conference rooms, video conferencing systems, and integrated AV environments. Experience with Cisco collaboration and video conferencing solutions, including Cisco Room systems. Knowledge of AV technologies including Logitech, Neat, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Crestron, and Extron. Experience with AutoCAD preferred for AV system drawings, rack elevations, signal flow diagrams, and technical documentation. Understanding of audio systems, DSP configuration, AV networking, control systems, and signal flow. Experience developing BOMs, technical proposals, labor estimates, and scopes of work. Customer-facing experience supporting technical discovery, solution presentations, and pre-sales engineering. Ability to take ownership of AV system design from initial requirements through deployment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Why EqualAccess?
