ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Business Ecosystem Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing all business ecosystem activities required to successfully integrate with each SAP S/4HANA release. This role serves as the central point of coordination across ecosystem initiatives, ensuring that dependent business capabilities, applications, teams, vendors, and operational activities are aligned with the S/4 deployment schedule. Working in partnership with the ERP Program Management Office and the Deployment Project Managers for each release, the Business Ecosystem Lead manages the ecosystem roadmap, cross-functional dependencies, integration readiness, and business commitments required to support each deployment. While Deployment Project Managers are accountable for delivering the S/4 release, the Business Ecosystem Lead is accountable for ensuring the surrounding business ecosystem is prepared to consume and integrate with that release.
Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, coordination, and governance of all business ecosystem activities supporting SAP S/4HANA releases.
- Maintain an integrated ecosystem roadmap aligned with deployment milestones and business commitments.
- Coordinate across the ERP PMO, Deployment Project Managers, business teams, technology teams, application owners, and vendors.
- Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, issues, and readiness gaps.
- Ensure impacted applications, integrations, data flows, processes, and operational teams are prepared for testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
- Facilitate governance meetings, track actions and decisions, and escalate critical issues.
- Provide clear status reporting on ecosystem readiness, dependencies, risks, and required decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned into future releases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading complex global ERP, SAP S/4HANA, systems integration, or business transformation initiatives.
- Strong program management skills, including integrated planning, dependency management, risk management, and executive reporting.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional business, technology, data, testing, change, and vendor teams.
- Strong understanding of ERP deployment activities, including testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and operational readiness.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence without direct authority in a highly matrixed global organization.
- Experience in life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated industry is preferred.
Blue Skies Consulting provides competitive compensation tailored to qualifications and experience of each applicant. The annual compensation for this role varies, ranging from $100,000 to $300,000, depending on expertise and years of experience.
