About the role

Turn the impact of philanthropy into meaningful connections. As the Manager, Donor Relations & Philanthropy Communications, you'll help shape how donors experience the impact of their partnership with Father's Joes Villages. You'll translate complex programs, services, and outcomes into clear, compelling communications that demonstrate impact, strengthen trust, and deepen donor engagement. You'll work with program leaders, organizational leadership, and other internal partners to create meaningful donor experiences and communications that reflect both the significance of our work and the dignity of the people we serve. The Role Develop and implement donor relations and stewardship strategies that strengthen engagement, demonstrate impact, and support donor retention. Support donor meetings, briefings, events, site visits, and other engagement opportunities, including activities supporting major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Ensure philanthropy communications are consistent with organizational messaging, brand standards, fundraising strategy, and donor expectations. Anticipate project needs, resolve issues, and communicate progress and risks to appropriate stakeholders. Provide direction, coaching, and support to team members responsible for donor relations and/or philanthropy communications. Use donor feedback, available data, and organizational insights to inform strategies and strengthen donor experiences. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, fundraising, nonprofit management, or related field. 7+ years of experience in donor relations, stewardship, fundraising, or philanthropy communications, including 3+ years of leadership experience. Proven success developing donor engagement, stewardship, and communication strategies that support major giving. Strong relationship building, communication, project management, and team leadership skills. Experience with donor CRM systems and data-driven fundraising strategies. CFRE preferred; valid California driver’s license required.  Why Join Father Joe’s Villages At Father Joe's Villages, philanthropy helps make our mission possible by bringing people together around the belief that everyone deserves safety, wellness, dignity, and community. Our work is grounded in our values of Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Empowerment, and Dignity, and we look for employees who bring those values to their work and relationships. Work Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to meet donor or organizational needs. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events or meetings. The role includes local travel for donor visits, site tours, and event support as needed. Compensation and Benefits Pay for this position is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
