About the role
A fast-growing, private equity-backed organization is seeking a Payroll Manager to own payroll operations across a multi-entity environment. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and taking full ownership of payroll from end to end.
Responsibilities:
Manage and execute payroll processing across multiple entities and states Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Own payroll-related configuration and administration within the HRIS/HCM platform Reconcile payroll data, deductions, taxes, and employee records Process garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll tax requirements Develop and improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation Support payroll integration efforts related to business growth and acquisitions Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to resolve payroll-related matters Qualifications 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience Experience managing payroll across multiple entities and/or states Strong understanding of payroll tax and compliance requirements Experience with HRIS/HCM payroll systems Advanced Excel skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
