We are seeking a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician for a full-time, ongoing locum opportunity in Illinois. This position offers a consistent Monday Friday inpatient schedule within a hospital-based rehabilitation unit, with a manageable daily census and Hospitalist support for additional medical management. Assignment Details Full-time locum opportunity Ongoing coverage Inpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Adult patient population Consistent weekday schedule Schedule Monday Friday 7:00 AM 4:00 PMFull-time coverage Wednesday staff meeting at 7:30 AMPractice Setting Hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation unit 11-bed rehab unit 134-bed hospital Approximately 8 10 patients per day May provide acute-care consultations to determine appropriateness for inpatient rehab admission
Epic EMRClinical Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient rehabilitation care Routine medical management of rehabilitation patients Evaluate acute-care patients for potential admission to the rehab unit Joint injections Baclofen pump management Bread-and-butter inpatient PM&R services Support Staff Hospitalists available to assist with additional medical management
Requirements:
MD or DOSuccessful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited PM&R residency or qualifying combined residency Current certification or active participation in the certification process through ABPMR or AOBPMR, with certification achieved within five years Active Illinois medical license requiredDEA requiredCSR requiredACLS required 1 2 years of experience preferred Recent inpatient rehabilitation experience required Credentialing Standard credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days Emergency privileges may be available within a few days
Ideal Candidate:
A PM&R Physician with recent inpatient rehabilitation experience who is comfortable managing adult rehab patients, performing common PM&R procedures, and collaborating with Hospitalists. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a full-time, ongoing Monday Friday locum assignment with a consistent daytime schedule and manageable inpatient census.
