About the role

Position Overview: Komar, a global leader in the design, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of high-quality sleepwear, layering, and intimates is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Designer specializing in Heritage Sleepwear. This role will support the design and development of timeless, classic sleepwear collections which also scales into a lifestyle brands.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Design team in developing seasonal sleepwear collections from concept through final product. Research heritage, vintage, and archival references for inspiration in silhouettes, prints, patterns, trims, and details. Maintain the authenticity of classic sleepwear aesthetics while incorporating updated colors, fabrics, and modern design elements. Create and update sketches, colorways, print layouts, technical details, and presentation boards. Assist with print and pattern development, including placement, repeats, scale, and color execution. Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout development. Review samples and provide design comments and revisions as needed. Maintain accurate design files, line sheets, color cards, and seasonal development materials. Help research fabrics, trims, embellishments, labels, and other components appropriate for heritage sleepwear. Stay informed on market trends, consumer preferences, competitive product, and emerging sleepwear trends. Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and presentations. Ensure all designs align with brand aesthetic, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred.2–4 years of fashion design experience, preferably in sleepwear, apparel, intimates, or related categories. Strong understanding of classic and heritage-inspired apparel design. Knowledge of textiles, prints, patterns, color, trims, and garment construction. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of PLM systems is a plus. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate design concepts clearly. Ability to balance traditional heritage aesthetics with contemporary commercial design. Strong sense of color, proportion, and print scale. Team-oriented, collaborative, and proactive approach.
