We’re looking for an Applied Scientist to help us build the next generation of behavioral models behind our platform. This role sits at the intersection of cognitive science, decision science, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning. You’ll work on modeling how people make decisions: what influences them, how different factors interact, how people make trade-offs, and how behavior varies across individuals and contexts.
What You’ll Do:
Develop computational models of human decision-making and behavior Translate behavioral and cognitive science into scalable algorithms Identify the variables and interactions that meaningfully influence decisions Design experiments and analyses to evaluate behavioral hypotheses Build statistical and machine-learning models using complex human behavioral data Work closely with engineering and product teams to bring research into production Establish rigorous approaches for validating models against real-world human behavior

You may come from computational cognitive science, cognitive neuroscience, decision science, behavioral economics, quantitative psychology, computational social science, statistics, or a related field. We’re especially interested in experience across: Computational modeling of human behavior Decision-making and behavioral science Bayesian inference and statistical modeling Machine learning Experimental design Modeling individual differences and heterogeneous behavior Python and modern scientific computing tools PhD or equivalent research experience preferred. More than any specific technique, we’re looking for someone who can move fluidly between understanding human behavior, formalizing it mathematically, and building models that work in the real world. At Blue Pill, you’ll have the opportunity to build foundational behavioral models from the ground up and see them directly influence products used by leading consumer brands.
