Description: American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry RN with a compact or Pennsylvania RN license for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring extensive cardiac and telemetry skills. Details Med-Surg/Telemetry unit (Team Center 2B) in a community hospital setting in Philadelphia, PAServes adolescent and adult patients with common conditions including stroke and general Med-Surg post-surgical cases Patient ratio of 1:5-6Average daily census of approximately 50 patients Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30) Every other weekend required Epic EMR experience required Navy scrubs required
Requirements:
  • Active compact or Pennsylvania RN license required
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and on-unit/remote telemetry monitoring required
  • Pacemaker experience required
  • Post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac catheterization experience requiredTR Band experience required
  • Feeding tube management experience required
  • Continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and renal transplant experience required
  • Blood product administration, central line management, phlebotomy, and IV therapy experience required
  • Heparin protocol experience requiredExperience managing non-titratable cardiac and vasoactive drips requiredPCA experience requiredExperience with CVA, intracranial bleed, post-TPA, seizure, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury required
  • Chest tube, HFNC, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care experience required
  • Wound care and wound vac experience required
  • Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information:
  • Provide direct patient care to a mixed adolescent and adult Med-Surg/Telemetry population with complex cardiac, respiratory, neurological, renal, and wound care needs
  • Orientation is approximately 24 hours
  • One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
  • First-time travelers are welcome to applyPA fingerprints and background clearance required as part of compliance process
  • Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance, with a maximum of three attempts allowed
