About the role
Registered Nurse - Med/Surg/Tele Unit
Location: Southampton, NYAssignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg/Tele Unit will provide high-quality nursing care to patients, assess their condition, and ensure smooth coordination with other health disciplines. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities:
Assess patient conditions and nursing needs while coordinating care activities.
Develop written individualized care plans, including teaching needs and discharge planning.
Administer direct nursing care, medications, and practice infection control.
Communicate changes in patient conditions to the Charge Nurse/Clinician.
Document patient and family education within the medical records.
Participate in quality assurance activities to enhance nursing practices.
Engage in floating duties as needed to support other units including ER Hold and occasionally ICU/CCU.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med/Surg/Tele nursing.
Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
