About Azodha: Azodha builds an AI-led, interoperable digital enablement platform that helps health systems and care organizations coordinate care, engage patients, and run complex clinical operations more efficiently. We're a fast-growing startup, and this engagement offers the chance to make a visible impact on a product used in real care delivery. The Engagement We're looking for an experienced contract backend engineer to design, build, and scale the services and data infrastructure behind our platform. You'll collaborate closely with our founder and CEO as well as the engineering team, owning defined features and technical deliverables from design through production. This is a 6-month contract engagement with the possibility of extension. Scope Of WorkDesign, build, and scale backend services and APIs (REST and GraphQL) using Node.js and TypeScriptBuild and maintain data pipelines and data warehousing solutions using tools such as Airbyte, dbt, and Apache Airflow or AWS GlueManage and optimize AWS infrastructure, including ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, and LambdaOwn CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to support fast, reliable releases Build secure, compliant systems that handle protected health information (PHI) Participate in code reviews and share best practices with the team Partner with product, QA, and clinical stakeholders across the full development lifecycle Support production stability, including on-call coverage as defined in the contract What You Bring 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScriptStrong experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, and ORMs such as Prisma, TypeORM, or Sequelize Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure management Experience with data pipeline tools (Airbyte, dbt, Airflow, or AWS Glue) and data warehousing Experience with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CDA track record of owning features end to end, from design through delivery Comfort working independently, managing your own schedule, and delivering against agreed milestones Clear written and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Availability for approximately 40 hours per week, with at least 4 hours of overlap with Eastern TimeNice to Have Experience in healthcare technology, including HIPAA compliance and standards such as FHIR or HL7Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or CloudFormation) Container orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes) Disaster recovery and backup strategies in AWSExperience with GCP or AzureOpen-source contributions Compensation and Engagement Terms: The hourly rate for this engagement will depending on experience. This is an independent contractor role (1099 or corp-to-corp) and is not eligible for employee benefits or equity. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment.
