Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse

Novant Health seeks a Registered Nurse for its Ambulatory Surgery Center to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care. The RN will provide pre-op and post-op assessments, administer medications, monitor patients through recovery, and support minor procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Responsibilities include coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams; educating patients and families; maintaining accurate EHR documentation; and upholding strict infection-prevention and safety standards. Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing assessments and care for ambulatory surgery patients Administer medications, start IVs, and monitor patient response during perioperative phases Monitor vital signs and patient status throughout recovery and intervene promptly as needed Coordinate care and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members Educate patients and families on procedures, post-op instructions, and follow-up care Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Uphold infection prevention, safety, and quality standards in accordance with Novant Health policies Support patient flow, room turnover, and efficient use of ASC resources in a fast-paced environment Patient assessment Pre-op and post-op nursing care IV insertion and medication administration Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Perioperative nursing protocols Infection prevention and control Patient and family education Care coordination and discharge planning Vital signs and hemodynamic monitoring Emergency response in surgical setting Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current RN license (state of NC or compact) Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred Ambulatory surgery or perioperative experience preferred
