Job Description 1. Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator
Welding + blueprint reading + fitting + fabrication.
We are looking for experienced structural steel workers who have experience with: Structural steel weldingMIG / FCAW / stick welding
Welding beams, columns, plates, angles, etc.1/8" 7024 welding rod experience is a plus Reading structural steel blueprints
Read architectural and structural drawingsUnderstand dimensions, elevations and details
Read shop drawings and erection drawingsUnderstand beam/column locations and connections Steel fabrication
Measuring and laying out steel
Cutting and fitting steel
Drilling holes
Fitting beams, columns, plates, angles and tubing
Using fabrication tools and equipment Crane operationExperience operating overhead cranes
Experience with construction/site cranes is a plus
Safely rigging and moving structural steel
Knowledge of proper lifting procedures Bobcat operationExperience operating a Bobcat/skid steer
Moving steel and materials around the jobsite
Loading/unloading materials Hi-Lo / Forklift operationExperience operating a Hi-Lo/forklift
Loading and unloading steel
Moving steel safely around the shop and jobsite Structural steel erection
Setting beams and columns
Bolting connections
Aligning steel
Working from erection drawings
Experience working at heights Rigging
Chains, slings and shackles
Properly rigging beams and columns
Signaling crane operators
Understanding load safety
